Grant Avenue Redevelopment Project (Former Sunar Hauserman)
Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio

On behalf of the Village of Cuyahoga Heights and the Development Partner, 5301 Grant, LLC, Partners authored a successful Round 8 Clean Ohio Revitalization Fund (CORF) grant to conduct remediation, demolition, and infrastructure activities at the former Sunar Hauserman Facility.  In the early 1990s, this site was the first USEPA Brownfield Pilot project in Ohio from the mid 1990s to around 2002.  During this time period, about $1MM was spent in an effort to remediate chlorinated solvent impacted soil and groundwater.  While progress was made, contaminant levels in the groundwater have rebounded and the soil and groundwater require further remedy.  Working with the Development Partner, Partners sought funding from Cuyahoga County’s Department of Economic Development to complete the studies and reports necessary to seek Clean Ohio Funding.  Partners authored the successful CORF grant application for further cleanup.

Partners is serving as Certified Professional (C)P and our work includes the preparation of several specifications and contractor bidding for over $2,000,000 worth of remedial activities.  These services include soil and groundwater remediation to address chlorinated solvents, removal of contaminated flooring, installation of a sub-slab depressurization system and epoxy floor coating, removal and closure of one (1) underground storage tank (UST), and waste disposal.

Partners is also managing all environmental consulting and Certified Professional services, including remediation system design, remedial action plan (RAP) preparation, operations and maintenance (O&M) plan preparation, fate and transport modeling, risk assessment, No Further Action (NFA) preparation, and UST closure.
